Unique art on wood and canvas inspired by my Swedish heritage, the love of sport and the Canadian nature around us.
Annica Collombin

Growing up in Sweden and now a 30 year resident of Canada, Annica tries to express her love for the forest and all the activities outdoors in her art work. With a diploma in fashion design and years of creative experience in many forms like clothing design, wreath making and now wood carving and painting you can see what inspires Annica in her work. Skiing, hiking, Mountain biking, golfing, paddle boarding and spending time with friends and family is combined with art. You can find Annica on the Ski hill in Fernie teaching skiing all winter long or at the Fernie Art Coop where she is a member displaying her art together with her daughter Tyra who also is an artist.
Wood Art

Trees, nature and all the sports that brings us outside inspires this artist. This” Wicked” wood art journey started when Annica took a course with local Muskoka, Ontario Wood carver Wayne Hill. This inspired Annica to explore her Swedish roots and to celebrate Canada by combining different styles on art on wood.
The goal is to use local and recycled wood or “up-cycled” canvas as the base then finish it with by carving and or painting it.
These pieces can be put in your garden or hung inside or outside, maybe it will inspire you to “up-cycle” some of your own wood.
More of my artwork can be found at The Fernie Arts CO-OP!
